On a recent episode of Deadliest Catch, fans witnessed more than just the storms brewing in the Bering Sea. There was another storm brewing in Captain Sig Hansen‘s life that he was not prepared for. Amid the storm Elsa, he received a call from his wife, which was quite uncommon. June Hansen rarely makes a call to her husband unless there is some serious news.
Since he was in the middle of the storm, Captain told his wife,
“Hey ah, can I call you back in five?”. After navigating the ship to safety, he let his daughter, Mandy, handle the ship duties and proceeded to call his wife. After talking to June for a couple of minutes, the only words Captain could utter were,
“Ugh uh-huh. [Silence]. You just tell me, you give me the word, and I will be there. I love you too.” He let the crew know about his wife’s health condition after hanging up the call.
Sig revealed,
“It sounds like my wife has a form of cancer. We do know that this area on her neck is cancer; we just don’t know if there’s more. There’s no way in hell I am going North.” Holding back tears, he responded, “I got some thinking to do. I just don’t know what to do right now.”
