They had a love affair for a year. On 3rd of July 2005, the couple got married with a wedding on a field in Nebraska. Unlike a usual wedding, the pair dressed in their casual home clothes. Her Children
She has two children a son and daughter in the family. A year after marriage, she gave birth to her eldest son, Wyatt Whitney on 2 August 2006. Her daughter Reagan Whitney was born on October 29, 2007.

At just a few days old, Wyatt was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, a looseness of the hip joint that can lead to crippling arthritis in children and adults.The baby was fitted with harness for treatment. The procedure didn’t work.
The pair consulted several doctors and taking the suggestion the baby was refitted with the harness when Wyatt was 8 months old. After wearing for next seven months it cured. Wyatt still visits doctors for yearly X-ray and have to continue till teen years.
Generous Cara Whitney and $5M donation
Having infant son diagnosed with hip dysplasia took an emotional toll on Cara. Doctors had no clear solution for the condition. After her son, Wyatt healed, she was determined to make sure the expertise could reach more patients, parents, and doctors.
She and her husband established non-profit organization “The Git-R-Done Foundation” in 2009 dedicated helping the children and veteran. Whitney donated $5 million to start the International Hip Dysplasia Institute at Arnold Palmer Medical Center to help exchange and advance knowledge of the condition. The couple has been a constant advocate for The International Hip Dysplasia Institute and its work to bring an awareness, prevention, and cure to the condition.
