How did Swamp People Mitchell Guist die

Swamp People is a reality TV show that follows the lives of Louisiana natives that hunt alligators in the Atchafalaya Basin bayous. The show premiered on History in 2010 and its 9th season just started this year on February 1.

Louisiana is one of the states that issue alligator hunting licenses. The gator hunting season there lasts only 30 days. During this time hunters are issued with a specific number of tags to limit their kills. These tags are to be attached to each kill made. Once they are all used up, a hunter is not permitted to continue hunting.

However, using all tags before the hunting season ends is each hunter’s goal. Why? Cause the more kills made, the more money earned. Swamp People films some of these hunters in their rush, frustrations, and achievements to exhaust all tags. One such gator hunter was the late Mitchell Guist.
